Winning Photos by Andrew Milligan
Press Association photographer, Andrew Milligan, has won two categories in the First ScotRail Press Photography Awards.
He picked up the News Picture of the Year and Open category.
Andrew, who is based in Central Scotland, impressed judges with his image of schoolgirl Vicki Hamilton’s father being restrained as Peter Tobin left court after being charged with her murder. His amusing shot of a young Highland cow in the snow won the Open category.
Andrew Milligan is one of three Press Association photographers based in Scotland, all of whom have either won or been nominated at the First ScotRail Press Photography Awards in the last two years.
Group Picture Editor, Martin Keene said:
“I’d like to extend my congratulations to Andrew on winning these awards. They are the result of the hard work and dedication he has to capturing pictures for the Press Association. Andrew is the third PA photographer so far this year to pick up an award. Two of those three are Scotland and Ireland based photographers, demonstrating the Press Association’s commitment to producing photography from the UK and Ireland. We aim to be no further than one hour away from a breaking story in the UK.”
