India’s latest readership survey (IRS R1) shows that Haymarket magazine Autocar India readership has risen by 13 per cent, compared to a 21 per cent drop in reader numbers for Overdrive, its main competitor.
Reader numbers for Autocar India now stand at 199,000, nearly three times that of Overdrive’s, whose latest reader numbers total 71,000.
Autocar India editor Hormazd Sorabjee said: “The latest readership numbers prove that people rely on Autocar India for quality content. Our commitment to provide cutting-edge news and reviews has made us a ‘must-read’ magazine for anyone interested in the subject. This is great news for us, especially at a time when the auto industry needs strong justification to spend ad money.”
Autocar India, which is for both car and motorbike buyers, has increased its readership at a time when most other English-language magazines are suffering from dwindling readership in India.
