Photojournalist Andrea Bruce will be honored at the Chris Hondros Fund Benefit and Silent Auction as the winner of the inaugural Getty Images & Chris Hondros Fund Award with an award of $20,000 to pursue her documentary photography, which brings to light shared human experiences. Finalist Dominic Bracco II, will also be recognized and receive a $5,000 award to continue his work of creating a visual history that provokes thought, raises awareness and fosters understanding.
The Getty Images & Chris Hondros Fund Award was created to honor photojournalist and two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Chris Hondros – the award-winning Getty Images photojournalist killed April 20th, 2011, in a mortar attack by government forces in Misrata, Libya – his work and his distinctive ability to bring shared human experiences into the public eye.
