The Bloomberg Photo team is looking for a staff Photo Editor to be responsible for processing imagery for live and non-live events on the London picture desk. The role consists of receiving, editing and sending content to client, as well as expediting photos for usage on all Bloomberg platforms. In addition to having an excellent understanding of news, the position also requires excellent picture judgment, French and/or German language skills, advanced knowledge and experience with industry standard editing tools and a thorough understanding of journalistic ethics. Strong Photoshop, Photo Mechanic and ftp transmission skills are mandatory and experience at an international wire service. The position reports to the EMEA Assignments Editor in London and the Global Photo Editor in New York.

The Role:
• Editing incoming images to select most relevant and newsworthy content from each event for our global clients.
• Monitoring news and assigning photographers in Europe especially France and Germany.
• Reviewing and correcting metadata of images to conform to Bloomberg guidelines.
• Researching accurate information for captions.
• Licensing imagery from third party sources.
• Supporting partners and internal platforms with content requests.
• Gaining permissions of use for handout imagery.
• Prioritize and update images according to relevancy on Bloomberg platforms as news updates.
• Stay informed and well read on business, finance and political news.
• Make appropriate editorial decisions on illustrative imagery on Bloomberg platforms.
• Monitor and update the photo desk diary as required.
• Flag breaking news and upcoming events to EMEA assignments editor.

Qualifications:
• University degree in a related field such as Photography, Journalism or Communications or equivalent work experience.
• Experience at an international photo agency.
• Excellent knowledge of image legal restrictions, licensing and permissions.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Fully conversant with content image management systems such as Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, ftp transmission software etc.
• Skilled at managing, using and creating content for social media platforms.
• Maintain speed, accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of industry style of captioning and IPTC standards.
• Extensive knowledge of digital photography and camera technology.
• Strong working knowledge of global current events especially in business, finance and politics.
• Ability to quickly identify the strongest pictures within large sets of images.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain thorough attention to detail.
• Excellent writing skills, spelling and grammar.
• Second languages either: French and German. Other languages including Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Italian etc a plus.
• Ability to prioritize heavy workload and meet strict client deadlines in a global environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Must be highly motivated, organized, reliable and flexible and organized.

AP invites applications for the position of Product Manager within the AP Images department, based in London.
With responsibility for the AP Images “product” outside of the Americas, this position is based in London reporting to the AP Images Director of International Business Development.
The Product Manager will be responsible for promoting the use and adoption of AP Images products through customer sales calls, crafting and delivering customer presentations / proposals, as well as identifying and securing new business from a wide variety of organisations for AP’s commercial assignment services. The role will be closely related to both sales and product development, but with an emphasis on marketing and convincing customers to use more AP content, both directly and through working with our international distributors.

Knowledge and Experience:
• Proven sales or product marketing experience, particularly within a licensing business.
• The individual should have experience in managing sales goals and targets, as well as have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a sales oriented environment.
• Proven image industry experience – in editorial, creative stock or assignment photography business.  The candidate must also have a sound understanding of video.
• Strong analytical skills are required and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong and well-rounded report writing and internal presentation skills.
• Superior leadership qualities. The ideal candidate will be highly innovative, self-motivated and resourceful. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for the job and a proven track record of sales successes, marketing savvy and business acumen.
• Deep knowledge of Internet technologies and e-commerce. AP Images makes use of digital or electronic delivery technologies.  While the individual does not need to have a technical background, he/she needs to know these technologies to sell and discuss in a sales or marketing setting and with customers.
• Superior written and oral communications skills.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentational programs.
• The ability to collaborate with a diverse range of internal teams is essential.
• Fluency in another major European language would be advantageous.

The Role:

Must be comfortable and enthusiastic about closing deals on hi-touch, unreleased images that require negotiation with models and model agencies.
Accountable for driving revenue by meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets by growing accounts and/or transactional servicing with a focus on relationship based selling.
Execute custom photo research for clients, prepare lightboxes and make outbound telephone sales calls to existing accounts to follow up on specific projects.
Pitch new and incoming content to existing client base.
Offer quick, flexible, and friendly customer service to a variety of clients on tight deadlines.
An understanding of a variety of customer segments is vital: magazines, broadcast, digital media, books, and more.
An understanding of the value of a high-end product is crucial.

Requirements:
Minimum of two years outbound/inbound sales or account management experience – specifically in the photo stock syndication arena.
Must be able to multi-task.
Knowledge/use of Customer Relationship Management systems preferred
Basic computer literacy (Internet, Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, etc.)
Fluency in written and spoken German

Main Responsibilities:
- Liaise directly with our commercial team on internal and external client requests and help coordinate research activities between our group archives
- Ability to understand a research brief and deliver accurate results on time
- Digital image processing, including capture, colour correction and repair as required of heritage images
- Accurate and efficient captioning and keywording of historic and contemporary images
- Quality control of online content
- Maintaining the upkeep of a hardcopy library of over 60 million print and negative assets
- Liaise with clients and colleagues on visits to the archives

Required Skills:
