You are an existing Account Manager or Sales professional with a solid background in a high calibre stock library. AP is seeking an International Entertainment Photo Editor, to be based in London.
The International Entertainment photo editor’s primary responsibilities are to direct coverage of entertainment photos internationally, outside of the United Kingdom and the United States. This would involve liaising with photo chiefs in bureaus around the world on their coverage plans, coordinating accreditation when needed, reviewing and editing the photos for picture quality and caption accuracy, for transmission to AP Web, print and broadcast customers worldwide.
Both picture judgment and knowledge of the entertainment field internationally are the twin paramount requirements for this position.
The successful applicant needs to be as familiar with the top entertainment news stories of the day as they are with the basic elements that make a good photograph, as well as follow the ethical guidelines for AP Photography.
The International Entertainment photo editor will provide timely and constructive feedback to photographers and editors in the field with regards to successful or missing coverage elements, often under the pressures of breaking news and imminent customer deadlines.
This person will also be expected to plan and lead AP photo or cross format teams at the bigger international entertainment events. Some travel is expected.
